Hope That Holds
Hope is not a mood. Moods change by lunch. This hope holds because of who is holding it.
Hope that holds
is not wishful thinking.
It is not crossing your fingers
and calling it faith.
It is an anchor
dropped in deep water,
tied to a God
who does not drift.
Feelings move.
He does not.
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Romans 15:13 (KJV)

What does Romans 15:13 mean?
Paul calls God “the God of hope,” the source of it, not just a supporter of it. He prays that God would fill believers with all joy and peace as they trust Him, so that hope abounds instead of running dry.
How is biblical hope different from wishful thinking?
Wishing hopes the odds break your way. Biblical hope is tied to who God is. It holds because He does not drift, even when feelings do.
